Job Description

Sample Handling & Processing

- Receive, verify, label, and log clinical specimens in accordance with SOPs.
- Perform nucleic acid extraction (DNA/RNA) using manual or automated methods.
- Ensure proper storage and tracking of samples and extracted nucleic acids.

Molecular Testing

- Perform RT-PCR, PCR, and related molecular assays as per validated protocols.
- Prepare master mixes, reagents, and controls with contamination-free practices.
- Run instruments (thermal cyclers, real-time PCR systems)



and monitor assay performance.

Quality Control & Compliance

- Follow internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQA) procedures.
- Maintain documentation: worksheets, run logs, temperature logs, and deviation reports.
- Adhere to NABL/ISO 15189 guidelines and laboratory biosafety standards.

Result Handling & Reporting Support

- Perform preliminary data analysis and flag invalid or failed runs.
- Communicate test status to supervisors and assist in result verification processes.
- Ensure timely turnaround time (TAT) for routine and urgent samples.

Laboratory Maintenance & Biosafety

- Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and PCR workflow segregation (pre-PCR/post-PCR).
- Perform routine calibration checks and basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Dispose of biomedical waste as per regulatory guidelines.
