Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced 4G/5G Layer 3 (L3) Engineerto design, develop, and optimize control plane protocols for LTE and 5G NR Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions. The role focuses on implementing and enhancing RRC, NGAP, and XnAPfunctionalities, managing mobility and session procedures, integrating with Layer 2 and Core Network interfaces, and delivering robust, standards-compliant signaling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Layer 3 control plane protocols, including RRC, NGAP, and XnAP, for LTE and 5G NR.
•
Implement signaling procedures for UE registration, connection setup/release, mobility management, handovers, bearer management, and session handling.
•
Develop and optimize control plane features to ensure reliable signaling and seamless mobility.
•




Integrate Layer 3 functionalities with Layer 2 (MAC/RLC/PDCP)and Core Network interfaces.
•
Analyze protocol logs, troubleshoot signaling issues, and perform root cause analysis for interoperability and performance problems.
•
Collaborate with system integration, testing, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality RAN software.
•
Ensure implementation complies with 3GPP LTE and 5G NRspecifications.
•
Required Skills
Strong programming skills in C/C++.
•
Solid understanding of RRC, S1AP/NGAP, X2AP/XnAP, and LTE/5G NR control plane procedures.
•
Experience with mobility management, handover procedures, session management, and signaling optimization.
•
Strong debugging, protocol analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
•
Good knowledge of 3GPP LTE and 5G NRstandards.
•
Experience working in a Linuxdevelopment workplace.
