Job Title : R&D; Head – Spinning

Location: Tirupur

Age: Below 45 years

Reporting To: Technical Director / Business Head

Job Purpose:

To lead R&D; initiatives in spinning operations by driving product innovation, process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement to enhance overall business performance and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. R&D; Strategy & Leadership

- Define and implement R&D; strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead and mentor the R&D; team across units
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement culture

2. Product Development

- Develop value-added yarns (compact, slub, siro, core-spun, blends, etc.)
- Handle customer-specific developments for domestic and export markets
- Ensure successful trials and commercialization

3. Process Optimization

- Improve efficiency across departments (blowroom to ring frame)
- Reduce waste, end breakage, and improve productivity
- Standardize best practices across units

4. Quality Improvement

- Monitor yarn quality parameters (CSP, CV%, IPI, U%, Hairiness)
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure consistency across production

5. Cost Optimization

- Optimize raw material utilization and mixing strategies
- Drive cost-saving initiatives across processes
- Improve kg/spindle/day productivity

6. Trials & Technology Implementation

- Lead large-scale trials and implementation of new technologies
- Evaluate machinery upgrades and attachments
- Ensure scalability of innovations

7. Cross-functional Coordination





- Work closely with production, quality, marketing, and maintenance teams
- Support customer interactions and audits
- Resolve critical technical issues

8. Data Analysis & Reporting

- Analyze production, quality, and cost data
- Present MIS reports and strategic insights to management

Key Skills Required

- Strong expertise in spinning operations and yarn development
- Strategic thinking and leadership ability
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of yarn testing and quality control
- Excellent coordination and communication skills

Experience Requirement

- 10 - 15 years in spinning industry with strong R&D; exposure

- Successful current product developments
- Reduction in waste and end breakage
- Improvement in yarn quality parameters
- Cost savings per kg of yarn
- Productivity improvement (kg/spindle/day)
- Reduction in customer complaints

Qualifications Required

- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Technology / Textile Engineering
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Strong technical expertise in spinning and yarn engineering
