Site Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities (Commercial Construction)
- Supervise all day-to-day construction activities as per approved drawings and project schedule.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and labour teams.
- Monitor labour productivity and ensure adequate manpower is available at the site.
- Verify setting out, levels, dimensions, and workmanship before and during execution.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain daily site progress reports, labour attendance, material consumption, and work records.
- Inspect incoming materials and ensure only approved materials are used.
- Report site issues, delays, and technical problems to the Project Manager/Site Engineer.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and client instructions.
- Coordinate with MEP, RCC, finishing, and other agencies to avoid work conflicts.
- Monitor housekeeping and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Enforce safety practices, including the use of PPE and compliance with site safety procedures.
- Assist in measurements, quantity verification, and preparation of contractor bills.
- Ensure timely completion of work by following the project timeline and milestones.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify defects and ensure rectification before handover.
- Maintain records of site instructions, inspections, and work completion.
- Support statutory inspections by consultants and local authorities whenever required.
- Immediately report accidents, unsafe conditions, or quality issues to management.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP coordination.
- Ability to read construction drawings and BOQs.
- Familiarity with construction quality standards and safety practices.
- Positive communication and team coordination skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word, WhatsApp reporting).
Qualification
- 3–8 years of experience in supervising commercial or residential construction projects.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
