Position : Application Chemist

Reports to: RM/SM

Location : Mumbai

Years of Experience : 3 to 8 years

Minimum Qualifications :B.Sc. or equivalent Graduation in Organic Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry

Preferred Qualifications : M.Sc. Or Equivalent Postgraduation in Organic/ Analytical Chemistry or higher

Type of Work Experience Required (Mandatory)*: Experience in Spectro products

Type of Work Experience Required (Preferred)*: Experience in ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS, UV, FTIR

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for providing post-sale customer in office application support on ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS, UV, FTIR
- Supporting customer method development/method optimisation assistance pertaining to their sample matrices
- Helping customers with method validation support, troubleshooting of customer application issues
- Demonstrating to customers advanced software capabilities and method packages with sample matrices
- Coordinate with Principals' local application lab for any support required to address any unresolved customer application requests
- Conducting application training to customers chemists for effective use and utilisation of the system and software




- Preparing effective application support reports detailing activities carried out and final results achieved
- Preparing and making PowerPoint presentations as and when required for customers on application support activity carried out and results achieved

Any specific skills/knowledge required for this position:

- Spectroscopy Expertise: Hands-on experience in handling spectroscopy products such as ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS. Should be comfortable in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining these instruments
- Sampling Techniques:



Familiarity with advanced sampling techniques such as ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS and other front-end sample introduction systems
- Analytical Methodology: Proven experience in analytical method development, optimisation, and validation using ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS platforms. Ability to design robust methods to address complex analytical challenges and ensure reproducibility
- Application Knowledge by Industry Segment: Understanding of typical application workflows aligned with specific industry requirements (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, environmental, petrochemicals, forensic, or clinical research). Should be able to translate customer requirements into analytical solutions
- Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of global regulatory standards and compliance requirements such as US FDA, EPA, ICH, USP, GLP, and ISO guidelines. Prior experience in working under regulated environments would be highly desirable
- Sample Preparation Techniques: Well-versed with sample prep techniques like acid digestion and matrix matching from prior discussions, Understanding of how these steps impact final analytical results is essential
- Additional Desirable Skills:
- - Ability to handle complex data analysis and interpret mass spectral information
- Familiarity with software platforms used in ICPMS, ICPOES, AAS, UV, FTIR workflows
- Strong problem-solving aptitude with innovative thinking for method troubleshooting
- Effective technical communication skills to support customers, teams, and training sessions
