Job Description – Java/J2EE Production Support Engineer

Experience Range: 5–8 Years

Must-Have Skills

- Strong Core Java fundamentals with expertise in:
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Multithreading & Concurrency
- Collections and Data Structures

- Hands-on experience with J2EE technologies:

- Servlets
- JSP
- Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)

- Strong experience with enterprise frameworks:

- Spring Framework
- Hibernate / JPA

- Experience deploying and managing applications on application servers:

- IBM WebSphere Liberty
- Apache Tomcat
- JBoss

- Knowledge of web servers:

- Apache HTTP Server
- IBM HTTP Server

- Front-end development skills:

- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- jQuery

- Strong production support experience:

- Tier-2/Tier-3 application support
- Incident management
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Hotfix coordination

- Expertise in troubleshooting enterprise applications:

- Log analysis
- Thread dump analysis
- Heap dump analysis
- Performance tuning and issue resolution

- Experience with CI/CD tools and deployment processes.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Bootstrap or other responsive UI frameworks.
- Experience supporting high-availability enterprise applications.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices and automated deployments.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java/J2EE applications.
- Build and support web applications using Servlets, JSP, EJB, Spring, and Hibernate.
- Deploy and manage applications on enterprise application servers.
- Configure and support web server infrastructure.
- Investigate production issues through log analysis, thread dumps, and heap dumps.




- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 production support for critical business applications.
- Coordinate application releases, hotfix deployments, and incident resolution.
- Participate in CI/CD implementation and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure application stability and performance.

- 5–8 years of experience in Java/J2EE application development and production support.
- Strong experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues under tight SLAs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
