BBS Engineer (Civil)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BBS Engineer to join our civil construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), estimating reinforcement steel quantities, coordinating with site and structural teams, and ensuring productive steel utilization in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) from approved structural drawings.
- Calculate reinforcement steel quantities for RCC elements such as footings, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and staircases.
- Coordinate with site engineers, structural consultants, and project managers to resolve reinforcement-related issues.
- Verify reinforcement details before fabrication and installation.
- Minimize steel wastage through accurate quantity estimation and optimization.
- Prepare steel reconciliation reports and monitor steel consumption.
- Maintain BBS records, revisions, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications,



quality standards, and applicable construction codes.
- Support billing, quantity surveying, and procurement teams with reinforcement quantity data.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation for civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of RCC detailing and structural drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and BBS software.
- Good knowledge of IS Codes and construction standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of quantity surveying and steel reconciliation.
- Familiarity with BIM/Revit is an added advantage.
