Role & responsibilities :

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in both PostgreSQL and SQL Server to manage, maintain, and optimize our database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, security, and availability, while supporting business applications and development teams across multiple platforms. Roles & Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments • Monitor database performance and implement tuning solutions to optimize queries, indexing strategies, and resource utilization. • Perform regular backups and recovery using native PostgreSQL tools (pg_dump, PITR) and SQL Server tools (SSMS, Maintenance Plans) • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions and high availability setups (Replication, Streaming Replication, Patroni, etc.) • Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with organizational standards • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, connectivity, or data integrity • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python,



Ansible) • Implement monitoring solutions using tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana, SQL Server Profiler, and third-party monitoring tools • Provide root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures • Mentor junior DBAs and share best practices with cross-functional teams Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field • 67 years of hands-on experience as a DBA with PostgreSQL and SQL Server • Solid expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, installation, and administration • Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security management • Knowledge of replication, clustering, and high availability solutions • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
