Responsibilities

- Translate non-fiction books from English to one of the above specified Indian languages while maintaining the author s original voice and intent.
- Ensure cultural accuracy in translations, adapting content to the target language s cultural nuances while preserving the original meaning.
- Proofread and edit translated content to ensure it meets high linguistic and quality standards.
- Review and revise translations as necessary based on feedback from the editorial team.
- Ensure consistency in terms, tone, and style throughout the translation process.
- Adapt complex ideas and concepts into explicit,



accessible language for the target audience without losing the essence of the original text.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

- Fluency in both English and at least one of the following Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Bengali, Nepali, or Assamese.
- Proven experience in translating non-fiction texts, particularly books, articles, or research papers.
- Strong understanding of the cultural context of the target language(s) and the ability to adapt content accordingly.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in translation.
- Ability to maintain authorial voice and tone while ensuring clarity and accessibility in the translated material.
