Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and execute the long-term strategy for the Renewable Energy business.
- Build and scale a profitable renewable energy portfolio with a focus on utility-scale solar projects
- Drive business growth while ensuring sustainable profitability.
- Establish the organizational structure, processes, and leadership team required to support future expansion.
- Own the overall P&L;, operational performance, and strategic direction of the business.

Business Development & Commercial

- Identify new business opportunities across utility-scale, Open Access, captive, and group captive projects.
- Lead participation in bids, tenders, and competitive project acquisitions.
- Develop strategic partnerships with developers, EPC contractors, financial institutions, and technology providers.
- Drive revenue growth through customer acquisition and market expansion.

Project Development

- Identify and develop utility-scale renewable energy opportunities.
- Drive project development from concept commissioning to sales.
- Lead site identification, land acquisition support, feasibility studies, statutory approvals, and regulatory clearances.
- Build a project pipeline of large-scale renewable assets.

Open Access & Power Sales

- Develop the Open Access business model and identify opportunities across industrial and commercial customers.
- Acquire and manage power buyers through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Build relationships with C&I; customers for captive and group captive power solutions.
- Develop innovative business models to maximize project returns.

EPC & Project Execution

- Lead the end-to-end EPC execution of renewable energy projects.
- Ensure timely project completion within budget and quality standards.
- Monitor construction, commissioning, and commercial operations.
- Establish robust project management systems and governance frameworks.

Procurement & Supply Chain





- Develop sourcing strategies for major project components including modules, inverters, transformers, structures, cables, and Balance of System (BoS).
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and EPC partners.
- Optimize procurement costs while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Build strategic vendor partnerships.

Government & Regulatory Liaison

- Establish solid relationships with Central and State Government authorities.
- Liaise with DISCOMs, State Nodal Agencies, Regulatory Authorities, Transmission Utilities, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate timely approvals and project clearances.

Financial & Commercial Management

- Own project financial viability and business profitability.
- Review investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract management, and risk mitigation.
- Drive cost optimization across the value chain.

Organization Building

- Recruit and build a high-performing leadership team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Develop systems, processes, and governance frameworks for sustainable growth.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in the Renewable Energy sector / 10+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of developing and executing large-scale Solar Power projects.
- Demonstrated experience in building or scaling a renewable energy business.
- Strong understanding of project development, EPC execution, procurement, and commercial operations.
- Experience in Open Access, Captive, and Group Captive power business models.
- Strong relationships across government agencies, regulators, DISCOMs, and industry stakeholders.
- Expertise in bidding, tendering, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
- Proven P&L; leadership and experience managing multi-functional teams.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to establish a business from the ground up.
