Role & responsibilities

- Audit IPD patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before final billing.
- Verify all billable services, including room charges, investigations, procedures, OT charges, ICU charges, pharmacy, consumables, implants, and consultant visits.
- Identify missed charges, duplicate entries, incorrect tariffs, and billing discrepancies.
- Cross-check billing entries with medical records, nursing notes, doctor's orders, OT records, and departmental reports.
- Ensure package billing is correctly applied as per hospital guidelines.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Pharmacy, Diagnostics, OT, ICU, MRD, and Billing teams to resolve audit observations.
- Ensure all supporting clinical documentation is available for bill validation.
- Prepare audit reports highlighting revenue leakage, billing errors, and corrective actions.
- Support revenue optimization by ensuring complete charge capture.




- Maintain audit records and ensure compliance with NABH standards and hospital billing policies.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to strengthen billing accuracy and internal controls.
- Report recurring billing issues and recommend corrective measures to management.

Preferred candidate profile

- 5-10 years of experience in Hospital IPD Billing Audit or IPD Billing (ONLY)
- Strong understanding of hospital billing processes and charge capture.
- Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Ability to interpret clinical documentation for billing validation.
- Excellent analytical and auditing skills.
- Strong attention to detail with high numerical accuracy.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
- Ability to work under deadlines in a hospital environment.
- Prefer Male candidates.
