Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an engineering background and 35 years of experience in managing product development projects within the Consumer Products (Electrical & Electronics industry). The candidate will be responsible for supporting and coordinating end-to-end product development activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality and regulatory requirements.

The role requires solid project coordination skills, cross-functional team management, technical understanding of product development processes, and the ability to drive execution across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and certification teams.

Role & responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

- Support planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of new product development projects.
- Create and maintain project schedules, milestones, resource plans, and risk registers.
- Track project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Coordinate project activities across hardware, software, mechanical, testing, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.
- Facilitate project review meetings and maintain action trackers.

Product Development Management

- Drive stage-gate product development processes from concept through commercialization.
- Monitor engineering deliverables including design, prototyping, validation, certification, and production readiness.
- Assist in developing project timelines and cost estimates.
- Ensure adherence to engineering change management processes.

Stakeholder Coordination

- Act as a liaison between cross functional teams like engineering, quality, supply chain supplier development, procurement, manufacturing, and management teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Support customer interactions related to project tracking and milestone updates.





Risk & Issue Management

- Identify project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.
- Develop mitigation plans and escalate critical issues proactively.
- Monitor project KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare project dashboards, status reports, and management presentations.
- Maintain project documentation, technical records, and lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with company processes and quality management systems.

Continuous Improvement

- Support implementation of project management best practices.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing development cycle time and improving project delivery performance.

Preferred candidate profile

Education - B.E/B.tech

3-5 years of experience in:

- Project Management
- New Product Development (NPD) Stage Gate Process Management
- Program Management
- Electrical/Electronics Product Development understanding

Technical Skills

- Understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
- Experience with Stage-Gate or similar NPD methodologies.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electronic systems, components, and assemblies.
- Familiarity with prototype development, testing, validation, and certification activities.
- Understanding of BOM management, engineering changes, and product release processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel Project Tracking, Power BI, ERP/PLM systems, Project tracking and other collaboration tools

Preferred Skills

- Experience working with EMS, OEM, or product manufacturing organizations.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements such as CE, UL, IEC, BIS, EMC, or safety standards.
- Basic understanding of plastic moulding, machining, foundry, embedded systems, power electronics, IoT products, or industrial electronics is an advantage.
