Role Overview:

We are looking for a Linux Distribution & Build Engineer to design, build, and maintain custom Linux-based operating systems for desktop and server environments. You will be responsible for developing bootable Linux ISO images, automating build and release pipelines, integrating system components, and ensuring secure, reliable, and reproducible OS releases through testing and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and maintain automated OS image build pipelines.
- Manage base system bootstrapping, package selection, and system customization.
- Maintain installer configuration and boot setup for BIOS and UEFI environments.
- Package in-house and third-party applications for inclusion in the operating system.
- Apply security hardening, CVE patching, and system configuration baselines.
- Set up and execute automated testing of built images, including boot and installation verification.
- Maintain build tooling, web/CLI interfaces,



and CI pipelines.
- Manage versioning, change logs, and signed update/release artifacts.
- Troubleshoot boot, kernel, driver, and installer-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and high-quality Linux OS releases.

Required Skills:

- Strong Linux system administration and Linux internals.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash) and automation.
- Experience with Linux packaging and package management (Debian/Ubuntu or RPM-based).
- Experience with virtualization tools such as QEMU/KVM and Virtual Box for testing.
- Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language for tooling and CI.
- Familiarity with bootloaders, kernel, initramfs, and filesystem images.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
