Job Summary
The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, modifying, and improving porcelain insulator products, preparing engineering drawings, supporting new product development, and coordinating with production, quality, and marketing teams to ensure timely execution of customer requirements. The role requires hands-on expertise in AutoCAD and a sound understanding of manufacturing processes related to high-voltage insulators.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed 2D & 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop and modify product designs as per customer specifications and applicable IEC/IS standards.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings for molds, fixtures, gauges, and tooling.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D;, Tool Room, and Quality departments for design implementation.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support new product development (NPD) and product customization activities.
- Analyze customer drawings and technical requirements for feasibility.
- Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements for product performance and manufacturability.
- Ensure proper revision control and documentation of all engineering drawings.
- Assist in root cause analysis for design-related manufacturing and quality issues.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Maintain compliance with applicable quality systems, engineering standards, and company procedures.





Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or equivalent.

Experience

- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Porcelain Insulator Manufacturing or the High Voltage Electrical Industry.

Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and GD&T.;
- Understanding of porcelain insulator manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of molds, tooling, and fixture design.
- Familiarity with IEC, IS, or other relevant electrical standards.
- Ability to interpret customer drawings and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Salary Range
4.50 LPA 7.00 LPA (Negotiable based on experience and competency)

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in designing porcelain insulators / composite insulators for transmission and distribution applications.
- Hands-on expertise in AutoCAD for engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Good understanding of production processes, tooling, and quality requirements.
- Exposure to product development, drawing revisions, and engineering change management.
- Candidate willing to work in a manufacturing environment with cross-functional coordination.
