- Role Overview: Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance & Inline QC Position Title: Mechanical Maintenance & Inline QC Engineer
- Department: Production & Plant Operations
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience Level: 1 – 4 Years (or as required)
- Reporting To: Plant Manager / Operations Head
Role ObjectiveThe Mechanical Maintenance & Inline QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum machine uptime through preventive/corrective maintenance while simultaneously enforcing strict quality standards directly on the production line to eliminate defects at the source.
- Key Responsibilities1. Machinery & Plant MaintenancePreventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Execute scheduled PM protocols and troubleshoot sudden mechanical failures across plant machinery, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gears, and drive units.
- Uptime Optimization: Minimize total mean time to repair (MTTR) and increase mean time between failures (MTBF).
- Spare Parts Management:
Maintain critical spare parts inventory to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance operations adhere to industrial safety regulations, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols, and machine guarding standards.
- 2. Inline Production Quality Control (QC)Process Inspection: Perform first-off inspections, hourly in-process quality checks, and final clearance checks along the production assembly line.
- Measurement & Verification: Utilize precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, height gauges, CMM) to verify dimensional accuracy against engineering drawings.
- Defect Minimization: Identify root causes of recurring dimensional or surface defects and implement corrective actions.
