Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and organized Transport Coordinator to manage day-to-day transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning transport schedules, coordinating with drivers, monitoring vehicle movement, and ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining compliance with company policies and transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transportation activities.
- Coordinate with drivers and assign trips based on operational requirements.
- Monitor vehicle movement and resolve transportation-related issues.
- Track vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and fleet utilization.
- Coordinate with warehouse/dispatch teams to ensure timely loading and dispatch.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and delays.
- Maintain transport documentation, trip sheets, mileage, and fuel records.
- Prepare transport and fleet performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate with transport vendors, if applicable.
- Handle customer concerns related to transportation and deliveries.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Good knowledge of transport operations and local routes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking or fleet management systems is an added advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Solid problem-solving and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field).
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Transport Coordination, Logistics, or Fleet Operations.
- Experience with transport management systems will be an added advantage.
