They bridge the gap between design and productio, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Validation & Inspection: Inspect current, repaired, or modified tools, dies, and molds using precision measuring instruments.
- Production Trial Support: Oversee initial, first-article, and production trials to identify tool performance issues and validate quality standards.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and tooling failures using tools like CAPA or DOE to implement corrective actions.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed records of tool inspections, trial results, and design modifications.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with designers and toolmakers to optimize tool design and process efficiency (e.g., in molding or stamping).
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all tooling meets industry-specific standards (e.g., IATF 16949) and customer quality requirements
