Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring safe and effective drug therapy, providing patient counseling, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Dispense medications and provide instructions for proper use.
- Counsel patients on dosage, side effects, drug interactions, and storage requirements.
- Monitor patient medication therapy and recommend changes when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and controlled substances.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and qualified standards.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
- Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs.
- Report and document adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
from an accredited institution.
- Valid Pharmacist license/registration as per local regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Certification in specialized pharmacy practice (if applicable).
- Experience with inventory management and regulatory compliance.
