research computer science process to transform structured and unstructured data into meaningful and actionable information insights that drive decision making Uses visualization techniques to translate analytic insights into understandable business stories eg descriptive inferential and predictive insights Embeds analytics into client s business processes and applications Combines business acumen and scientific methods to solve business problems Management Level Definition Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business technical issues within established policies Manages activities of exempt individual contributors typically Expert Master and or MG1s Has accountability for a large multi-department area s or location s with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization Plans manages and monitors high-end operational tactical activities of Staff Staff members primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both Recruits and supports development of direct staff members Position typically reports to Director or above Additional Guidance Criteria Manages and controls activities within a sub-region or Region Typically manages 10 or more direct reports Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers What you ll do Responsibilities Manages multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors who are formulating and defining analytics solution objectives and technical requirements based on client s user needs an understanding of business processes industry requirements and advanced Analytic models statistical operations research computing process Leads the development and enhancement of a client s analytics solutions for high risk critical analytics solutions in the high complexity environments or projects Partners with analytics experts to define the best practices for the development of elegant and simple visualization models Directs other managers team leaders and professionals in the delivery of analytics solutions Directs the best practice research to identify define and organize analytic solutions for the most complex analytics solutions for clients Acts as a subject matter expert when leading the strategic direction of innovative analytics solutions Establishes and manages relationships with client executives and subject matter experts What you need to bring Education and Experience Required Master s or Master s degree in a technical discipline related to Statistics Analytics Mathematics Psychology or Data Analysis or equivalent work experience Typically 12 years of relevant experience Master s degree or advanced degree in related field preferred 5 years of experience leading people and teams Knowledge and Skills Mastery of data science methodologies including but not limited to classical regression neural nets CHAID CART association rules sequence analysis cluster analysis and text mining Thought leading ability to translate business requirements to data mining objectives to achieve measurable business outcomes Mastery of analytics software tools e g R SAS SPSS Advanced understanding of analytics deployment architectures eg TIBCO Streambase Businessworks Mastery of machine learning data integration and mathematical modeling skills and tools Informatica AbInitio Talend Leadership level communication and presentation skills Extensive knowledge of programming languages such as Python SQL R SAS Java Unix Shell scripting Extensive knowledge of Hadoop framework desired Extensive knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools eg
