Job Summary The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure a safe working workplace in the steel plant This role involves conducting safety inspections promoting safety awareness ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks associated with plant operations Key Responsibilities Monitor steel plant operations to ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements Conduct daily safety rounds inspections and audits across plant sections such as blast furnace rolling mill coke oven etc Identify unsafe conditions hazards and unsafe acts recommend and enforce corrective actions Maintain and update risk assessments Job Safety Analysis JSA and HIRA Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Investigate accidents incidents and near-misses prepare reports with root cause analysis and preventive actions Conduct fire safety drills emergency evacuation training and first-aid programs Ensure proper usage and availability of PPE Personal Protective Equipment Conduct safety induction for new employees and safety toolbox talks for workers and contractors Monitor compliance with permit-to-work PTW systems for hot work confined space height work etc Liaise with government safety inspectors and assist in audits e g Factory Inspector Pollution Control Board etc Qualifications and Skills Diploma Degree in Engineering with a Diploma in Industrial Safety as per Factory Act Certification in NEBOSH IOSH OSHA is desirable Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in steel or heavy manufacturing industries Knowledge of safety regulations such as Factories Act ISO 45001 and environmental norms Strong analytical and reporting skills Proficiency in incident investigation techniques e g root cause analysis 5 Why Fishbone Good communication skills Hindi English ability to train and influence workers and contractors Working Conditions On-site full-time position includes shift work and availability during emergencies Exposure to high-temperature areas heavy machinery and hazardous conditions - proper PPE is mandatory Job Type Full-time Work Location In person
