Full time Work From Office This Position is Currently OpenDepartment Category ENGINEER Listed on Jul 25 2025Work Location CHENNAI BANGALORE Job Descritpion of Plant Design Engineer 6 to 10 Years Relevant Experience We are seeking a Plant Design Engineer with 6-10 years of experience in detailed engineering for Hydro Power Plant projects particularly with mechanical Balance of Plant BoP systems The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing design calculations specifications and flow diagrams and should be proficient in handling RFQs vendor evaluations and international engineering codes ASME EN IS This role requires close coordination with global cross-functional teams and active involvement across the entire engineering lifecycle from contract review to vendor documentation approval Key Responsibilities Analyze and interpret project contracts identifying and documenting any deviations Prepare flow diagrams design calculations and conceptual schemes for hydro power plant systems Develop detailed design memos and technical specifications for BoP equipment including Pumps Heat Exchangers Filters EOT Cranes Design and document systems such as Cooling Water Systems Open Closed Circuit Drainage Dewatering Systems LP HP Air Systems Lube Oil Handling Purification Systems HVAC Fire Water Systems Perform pump head calculations manual using AFT Fathom Develop piping specifications in accordance with contract requirements Prepare RFQs and evaluate supplier technical offers Review and approve Vendor drawings Bill of Materials BoM Technical regulation certificates Test reports Adhere to plant identification and labeling systems such as KKS and RDSPP Provide support to internal and external stakeholders including resolution of technical queries Collaborate across disciplines for seamless project execution Must-Have Skills Experience Strong expertise in end-to-end mechanical engineering for Hydro Power projects Proven experience in BoP equipment design Pumps Exchangers Filters EOT Cranes Proficient in creating piping specs flow diagrams and system schematics Knowledge of international codes standards ASME EN IS Familiarity with plant documentation systems like KKS and RDSPP Proficient in pump head calculations using manual methods and AFT Fathom Experience reviewing vendor bids drawings and technical documentation Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Comfortable working in global multidisciplinary teams Positive-to-Have Exposure to large-scale Hydro Power EPC projects Hands-on with design software tools used in plant engineering Understanding of plant operational processes commissioning and maintenance perspectives Required Skills for Plant Design Engineer Job Mechanical Balance of Plant BOP equipment like Pumps Heat exchangers Filters EOT crane plant equipment labelling systems like KKS and RDSPP Our Hiring Process Screening HR Round Technical Round 1 Technical Round 2 Final HR Round
