Gas Cutter Job Title Gas Cutter Thermal Cutter Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Gas Cutter to perform precision thermal cutting on various metal materials The successful candidate will be responsible for operating oxy-fuel or plasma cutting equipment to cut metal plates pipes and structural steel according to blueprints and specifications ensuring all work adheres to strict quality and safety standards Key Responsibilities Read and accurately interpret blueprints technical drawings and cutting plans to determine dimensions and required cutting angles Set up calibrate and safely operate manual and semi-automatic gas cutting equipment e g oxy-acetylene propane or plasma torches Select appropriate cutting tips pressures and speeds based on the type and thickness of the metal e g steel stainless steel Perform accurate and clean cuts minimizing material waste and subsequent rework Inspect finished cuts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements Clean and maintain cutting equipment torches hoses and gas cylinders and report any malfunctions Strictly adhere to all safety regulations including fire prevention procedures proper ventilation and wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment PPE Assist with material handling loading and unloading of metal pieces before and after the cutting process Qualifications Proven experience as a Gas Cutter Thermal Cutter or a related metal fabrication role Demonstrated proficiency in setting up and operating oxy-fuel cutting equipment Ability to accurately read and work from blueprints schematics and measurement tools e g tape measure squares Strong knowledge of metal types cutting tolerances and heat effects on materials Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning Commitment to safety and understanding of hazardous materials handling gases Physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions and environments Education High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a vocational or technical training program in metal fabrication welding or thermal cutting is highly desirable LIECL is an equal opportunity employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees Job Type Full-time Pay 8 000 00 - 10 000 00 per month
