Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 Level 3 Engineer with deep expertise in DB2 database administration performance tuning and troubleshooting across IBM AS 400 iSeries and AIX platforms This role is responsible for advanced incident resolution root cause analysis optimization and providing guidance to the support teams Key Responsibilities Provide Level 3 support for DB2 databases running on AS 400 IBM iSeries and AIX environments Lead complex incident investigations and drive root cause analysis for recurring database and system performance issues Perform advanced performance tuning query optimization and index management to ensure optimal DB2 performance Design and implement backup recovery and high availability HA DR strategies Manage DB2 database security access controls and compliance with organizational standards Collaborate with application teams to optimize SQL queries stored procedures and database schemas Plan and execute DB2 upgrades fix packs and migration projects across AS 400 and AIX platforms Support capacity planning system scaling and performance benchmarking for critical workloads Develop and maintain technical documentation standard operating procedures SOPs and knowledge base articles Mentor and provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support teams Required Skills Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience 8 years of experience in DB2 database administration with at least 5 years in Level 3 or senior support roles Strong expertise in DB2 for iSeries AS 400 and DB2 LUW on AIX Hands-on experience with DB2 utilities SQL tuning query optimization and workload management WLM In-depth knowledge of backup recovery strategies HA DR HADR TSA Q Replication MIMIX etc Familiarity with system-level troubleshooting on AIX and AS 400 PASE IFS job logs system values Experience in migration patching and version upgrades of DB2 environments Strong knowledge of ITIL processes Incident Problem Change Management Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle critical production issues under pressure Good communication skills to interact with application infrastructure and vendor teams Preferred Positive to Have IBM DB2 Certification DB2 DBA for LUW DB2 for iSeries etc Experience with PowerHA HACMP BRMS TSM or Spectrum Protect Exposure to cloud-hosted DB2 environments or modernization projects Job Type Contractual Temporary Contract length 12 months Pay Up to 293 087 00 per month Benefits Health insurance
