Responsibilities 1 Presenting News As the News Anchor your main responsibility will be to deliver accurate and engaging news content on a variety of platforms including television and online media 2 Research and Preparation Conduct in-depth research on daily news topics to ensure comprehensive and well-informed reporting Prepare scripts and conduct necessary rehearsals to ensure smooth on-air delivery 3 News Production Collaborate with the production team to create visually appealing news segments by incorporating appropriate graphics videos and other multimedia elements 4 Interviewing Conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders experts and influential personalities to gather comprehensive insights on significant news stories 5 Quality Assurance Verify the accuracy of news stories ensuring they are well-researched unbiased and comply with all ethical and professional standards 6 Breaking News Coverage Be prepared to cover breaking news events improvising when necessary and keeping the audience informed on unfolding stories 7 Collaboration Collaborate with the editorial team producers and other news anchors to create a cohesive news production ensuring smooth transitions between different segments 8 Participate in Promotional Activities Actively participate in promotional activities related to the news channel including conducting interviews attending events and representing Chandigarh University professionally at public engagements Requirements 1 Education and Experience A bachelor s degree or higher in journalism communication or a related field is preferred Prior experience as a news anchor or reporter in broadcasting or journalism is highly desirable 2 Excellent Communication Skills Solid verbal and written communication skills in English are essential Proficiency in Hindi and Punjabi is a plus 3 Presentation Skills A compelling on-camera presence with excellent delivery pronunciation and diction 4 Knowledge of News Production Familiarity with news production techniques including script-writing video editing and on-camera presentation 5 Current Affairs Awareness A strong understanding of local national and international current affairs including politics business sports entertainment and trending news topics 6 Professionalism Ability to work under high-pressure situations meet tight deadlines and maintain composure and professionalism while on-air 7 Flexibility Willingness to work irregular hours including weekends and public holidays as news events may require 8 Tech-savvy Proficiency in operating teleprompters cameras audio equipment and other broadcast-related technologies Familiarity with live streaming platforms and social media for news dissemination is an advantage The candidate is expected to have excellent command over Punjabi and Hindi as well as a proficiency in the English both spoken as well as written and should be able to draft Press Releases maintain interview logs media databases and internal media files Contact No (phone hidden) Department All Departments Skills Required Media Journalism Anchoring News Reporting writing Years Of Exp 1 to 5 Years Designation News Anchor
