Svaya is a contemporary women s wear D2C brand focused on comfort-led thoughtfully designed apparel with strong attention to fit fabric and wearability We are building a scalable product engine that balances creativity with commercial performance Role Overview We are looking for a Fashion Merchandiser - Sourcing Product Development who will own the end-to-end execution of product ranges from fabric and design sourcing to costing sampling and performance tracking This role bridges design intent and business reality ensuring that products are on-brand well-priced and sell profitably Key Responsibilities 1 Fabric Trim Sourcing Source fabrics trims and finishes aligned with brand aesthetic quality standards and seasonality Coordinate swatches lab dips strike-offs and fabric testing Evaluate fabrics for fit fall opacity comfort and durability especially across extended sizes Negotiate prices MOQs lead times and payment terms with mills and vendors Maintain a structured fabric vendor library 2 Design Procurement Product Development Procure designs silhouettes from studios vendors freelancers or internal references Translate creative direction into producible styles within target costing Coordinate sampling cycles fit sessions and revisions Ensure designs meet margin quality and feasibility benchmarks before bulk production Work closely with founders design leads to align on final styles 3 Merchandising Range Planning Assist in seasonal range planning categories silhouettes price points Plan quantities by style size and colour based on sales data and forecasts Finalise cost sheets MRPs and margins Support launch calendars and drop planning 4 Inventory Performance Management Track style-wise and size-wise sales performance Identify fast movers slow movers and dead stock Recommend repeats reorders markdowns or discontinuations Analyse return and exchange data to improve future buying decisions 5 Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Design Production vendors Marketing e-commerce Operations logistics Ensure timely product readiness for launches and campaigns Desired ProfileExperience 3-6 years of experience in Apparel merchandising Product development Sourcing roles D2C boutique brands or export houses Experience in women s wear preferred Exposure to extended sizes is a strong plus Skills Competencies Robust understanding of fabrics garment construction and costing Commercial mindset with attention to margins and sell-through Ability to manage multiple styles and timelines simultaneously Comfortable working with vendors and negotiating rates Strong understanding of garment construction quality checks stitching cycles Data-driven approach to buying and product decisions What Success Looks Like Better fabric and design decisions with fewer sampling errors Improved sell-through and lower dead inventory On-time launches with controlled costs Clear visibility into what to repeat improve or stop Why Join Svaya Direct impact on product and brand growth Close collaboration with founder Opportunity to shape sourcing and product systems from the ground up Job Type Full-time Pay 22 000 00 - 28 000 00 per month Work Location In person
