Studio Sairish is a soon-yo-launch luxury soft home furnishings house an initiative incubated by Torrent Power Torrent Group rooted in India s artisanal heritage and elevated by contemporary global sensibilities We design and curate bed linens cushions curtains and upholstery that balance meticulous craftsmanship with modern minimalism bringing understated opulence into discerning homes The Head of Design will be the founding creative leader for Studio Sairish responsible for establishing the brand s design language seasonal line architecture and product development processes The individual will build and lead the design organization translating the brand s vision into commercially viable collections across categories Key Responsibilities Establish the design philosophy seasonal direction and product standards of Studio Sairish Lead the creation of collections from concept to market research design briefs textile yarn development CADs prototypes sampling and gold-seal approvals Define and maintain product quality standards materials finishes construction testing Build and lead a design team ensuring clear processes and accountability Collaborate with sourcing merchandising and brand teams to align design with business objectives Present seasonal collections to internal stakeholders collaborators and external partners Drive craft innovation and integrate sustainable design practices Development and institutionalization of a comprehensive Design Framework including defined principles standards and reference materials governing product aesthetics materials finishes and construction Delivery of seasonal collections demonstrating consistency of design language quality and commercial alignment Establishment of a rigorous product development and approval process to ensure quality and reduce rework Formation of a scalable design organization with core talent in textiles surface design CAD tech pack and product development Experience Credentials 12-18 years of experience in luxury home textiles soft home with 4-6 years in design leadership Demonstrated ability to build and launch seasonal collections for premium or luxury brands India or international Technical expertise in fibers weaving finishing embroidery printing and product development Robust commercial orientation including experience in line planning pricing and cost management Proven ability to lead design teams and collaborate with sourcing and manufacturing Strong aesthetic judgment combined with process discipline Leadership skills with ability to attract and mentor design talent Excellent presentation and storytelling capabilities Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator Photoshop and CAD PLM systems or leadership of specialized teams Entrepreneurial and hands-on comfortable in a founder-led build-from-scratch environment Education Bachelor s or Master s degree in Textile Design Fashion or Fine Arts
