Position Overview

The Delivery Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire delivery partner lifecycle from recruitment to performance management. You will own the strategy and execution of fleet expansion, retention, productivity, and compliance. You will lead a team of field executives and work closely with cross-functional teams like Product, City Ops, Customer Support, and Finance to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Planning & Expansion

- Design and execute strategies to onboard 1000+ delivery partners over multiple city zones.
- Develop fleet supply forecasts aligned with demand projections and business goals.
- Create and maintain a partner mix across vehicle types (2-wheelers, cycles, EVs, walkers) to optimize cost and speed.

2. Recruitment & Onboarding

- Lead recruitment campaigns across digital platforms, referral programs, job fairs, and field outreach.
- Design and conduct onboarding SOPs, ensuring compliance with documentation, background checks, and policy adherence.

3. Training & Performance Management

- Develop structured training modules covering app usage, soft skills, safety, customer etiquette, and food handling.
- Monitor fleet KPIs including:

- Delivery success rate
- Average delivery time
- Partner punctuality & attendance
- Customer complaints and ratings

- Drive performance improvement plans and implement corrective actions.

4. Retention, Engagement & Incentives





- Design competitive incentive structures tailored to partner behavior and peak hours.
- Launch loyalty programs, wellness benefits, and partner appreciation events.
- Implement real-time feedback and grievance redressal mechanisms to maintain satisfaction and reduce churn.

5. Operational Excellence

- Allocate zones, shift rosters, and deployment based on demand heatmaps and city events.
- Drive cost efficiencies through route optimization, idle time reduction, and order clustering.
- Coordinate with the tech team to implement automation tools for attendance, payments, and compliance tracking.

6. Compliance & Safety

- Ensure fleet adherence to traffic rules, food safety guidelines, and hygiene standards.
- Regular audits for uniform, delivery box condition, ID cards, and app usage integrity.

7. Vendor & Field Team Management

- Liaise with third-party staffing vendors, onboarding agencies, and vehicle leasing partners as required.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of on-ground field executives and team leads.

Key Qualifications

- Education: Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred)
- Experience: 5-7+ years in last-mile logistics, delivery operations, or fleet management in high-volume industries like foodtech, e-commerce, quick commerce, mobility or startups.
- Demonstrated experience in managing 500+ delivery partners across geographies.
- Strong command of data analytics tools (Excel, Google Sheets, dashboards); familiarity with fleet tracking systems and workforce management tools.
- Hands-on operational mindset with a bias for action.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Proficiency in Hindi, Bengali, and English is a plus.
