Sber is planning to introduce a state-of-the-art Core Banking System (CBS) created specifically for the Indian market. This strategic initiative aims to enhance the banking experience for Indian customers and clients by leveraging advanced technology and Sberbank s extensive expertise in financial services.

Backend Developer:

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Backend Java Developer to join a large-scale banking technology team. The candidate will design, develop, and support reliable backend services for mission-critical systems with high requirements for security, scalability, performance, and availability.





The role requires strong Java backend expertise, enterprise development experience, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed international team.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring-based frameworks.
- Build scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant microservices for banking products and internal platforms.
- Develop REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems (API Contracts).
- Participate in analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, QA, DevOps.
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Support production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement technical improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation for services and integrations.
- Code review

Mandatory Technical Skills

- Strong commercial experience in backend development with Java/Kotlin.
- Valuable knowledge of Java 17 or later.
- Experience with Spring Boot 3+, Spring Framework, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with REST API design and integration patterns.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Clickhouse etc.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of Docker; Kubernetes or OpenShift experience is an advantage.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application security risks.
