Purpose: To monitor, control, and optimize plant operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control all plant operations through the DCS interface.
- Maintain key process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow etc.) within specified limits.
- Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot abnormalities, and take corrective actions promptly.
- Communicate instructions to Chemist/Operators for manual adjustments, sampling, and equipment checks.
- Ensure real-time logging of process data, trends, and shift records.
- Report deviations, near misses, or hazardous conditions. Support HAZOP, incident investigations, and safety audits.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of chemical production processes (batch/continuous).
- Ability to read P&IDs;, PFDs, process flow sheets, and interlock logic.
- Quick decision-making in process disturbances and emergency situations.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control basics.
- High attention to detail and safety mindset.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
Qualification: Diploma (Chemical)
Nature of Experience:
- 3 to 6 years experience in DCS-based Batch and Continuous plant operations. Should have worked in Agrochemicals / Specialty Chemicals / Fine Chemicals Manufacturing.
