Job Summary

We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in trolley design and material handling equipment design. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving industrial trolleys, material handling equipment, and related assemblies. The role involves concept development, detailed engineering, 3D modeling, manufacturing support, prototype validation, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop industrial trolleys and material handling equipment.
- Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings using CAD software.
- Perform design calculations related to load capacity, structural strength, stability, and ergonomics.
- Select suitable materials, wheels/casters, bearings, and other standard components.
- Review customer specifications and convert them into engineering designs.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams for smooth manufacturing and assembly.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials)



and technical documentation.
- Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues related to design.
- Work on design modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and industry standards.

Required Skills

- Experience in trolley design / material handling equipment design.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and fabrication concepts.
- Hands-on experience in 3D modeling, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Positive understanding of design calculations, load capacity, structural strength, and stability.
- Knowledge of material selection, caster/wheel selection, bearings, and standard components.
- Experience in BOM preparation and technical documentation.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and quality.
- Understanding of prototype development, testing, and validation.

Preferred CAD Software Skills

- SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA / AutoCAD

Candidate Profile

- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in trolley design or material handling equipment.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and convert them into practical engineering designs.
