About the Role:

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) practices across project sites. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety standards, identifying workplace hazards, conducting safety inspections, driving corrective and preventive actions, and promoting a strong safety culture across all phases of project execution. The Safety Officer will work closely with project teams, contractors, and site personnel to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

This is a fixed-term contractual role for a period of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement EHS policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at project sites.




- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, statutory requirements, and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and report unsafe conditions or practices.
- Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain EHS documentation, including safety checklists, incident reports, inspection logs, permits, and statutory records.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for workers, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
- Coordinate and support internal and external EHS audits, inspections, and client safety assessments.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, prepare reports, identify root causes, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with EHS requirements throughout project execution and promote continuous improvement in safety performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Strong understanding of EHS principles and construction/site safety practices.
- Good knowledge of safety standards, statutory requirements, and applicable regulations for construction and industrial projects.




- Strong hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation skills.
- Good observation, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with workers, contractors, clients, and project teams.
- Ability to interpret and implement safety procedures, work instructions, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to EHS standards across project sites.

Software Tools:

- Valuable working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with safety documentation, reporting tools, and digital inspection systems is preferred.

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or related discipline).
- Mandatory certification in safety such as IOSH / OSHA / NEBOSH (IGC or equivalent).
- Mandatory safety certification: ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) or PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety).

Work Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in EHS or site safety within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Experience in solar EPC projects is preferred.
- Experience in implementing EHS management systems, conducting audits, incident investigations, and ensuring statutory compliance will be an added advantage.

Location:

- This role involves deployment at the Goa project site and may require travel or deployment to other project locations in India based on business and project requirements.
