About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Packaging Development Executive to join our New Product Development (NPD) team for our Home Fragrance portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing functional, premium, and aesthetically appealing packaging solutions for products such as scented candles, reed diffusers, room sprays, wax melts, and other fragrance categories. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Procurement, Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and external packaging vendors to ensure timely product launches while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions for new product launches.
- Source and evaluate packaging materials such as glass jars, bottles, caps, pumps, reed sticks, cartons, labels, rigid boxes, inserts, and corrugated shippers.
- Coordinate with domestic and international packaging vendors for sample development, costing, tooling, and production timelines.
- Work closely with the Design team to ensure packaging aligns with brand identity, premium aesthetics, and consumer expectations.
- Conduct packaging trials, compatibility studies, transit testing, drop tests, leakage tests, and stability evaluations.
- Ensure packaging complies with regulatory, safety, labeling, and sustainability standards.




- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives without compromising product quality or brand positioning.
- Prepare packaging specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), technical drawings, artwork approvals, and packaging documentation.
- Collaborate with Procurement to identify new suppliers, negotiate specifications, and improve packaging quality.
- Support pilot production runs and resolve packaging-related issues during manufacturing.
- Stay updated with industry trends, innovative packaging materials, sustainability initiatives, and competitor packaging.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Technology, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in Packaging Development or Packaging R&D;, preferably in Home Fragrance, Beauty & Personal Care, Cosmetics, FMCG, Luxury Goods, or Consumer Products.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials including glass, plastics, paperboard, corrugated packaging, labels, closures, and decorative finishes.
- Experience in packaging validation, testing, artwork development, and packaging compliance.
- Knowledge of printing techniques such as offset printing, screen printing, hot foil stamping, UV coating, embossing, debossing, and labeling.
- Understanding of packaging costing and supplier development.
- Strong project management and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
