Role & responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day inspection activities in fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure all fabricated components meet specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Perform or supervise dimensional checks using inspection tools.
- Monitor welding quality, consumable control.
- Review material certificates, NDT reports, and inspection documents.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and deviation requests.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality plans, ITPs, checklists, and test records.
- Maintain traceability of materials, welds, assemblies, and final products.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards (ISO, ASME, AWS, API, etc.).
- Prepare WPS, PQR & WPQ documents as per ASME sec IX, EN-15614, EN9606 & IBR-1950 & AD-Merkblatt 2000 CODES, also preparing the welders to perform the same under TPI/Notified body.
- Preparing all SOP and procedures for NDT,
PWHT and specific project related procedures as per Relevant codes.
- Preparation of ITP and QAP as per customers project requirements.
- Preparations all stage reports as per the ITP.
- Co-ordination with client/TPI/Consultants to arrange inspections and raise inspection calls.
- Handling ASME audits, ISO audits.
- Co-ordination with NABL labs for testing requirements and ensuring the job requirements for lab check testing as per codes.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience in fabrication, welding, or heavy engineering industry.
- Solid background in structural, piping, pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchanger, columns or steel fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with shop-floor inspections, NDT coordination, and quality documentation.
