About the Role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support our Plant and Supply Chain Operations by ensuring compliance with applicable labour, industrial, environmental, and EHS laws. The role will serve as the legal single point of contact (SPOC) for manufacturing operations, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive statutory compliance, mitigate legal risks, and provide legal advisory on day-to-day operational matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the legal SPOC for plant and supply chain operations on compliance-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Labour Laws, Labour Codes, Industrial Laws, the Factories Act, Environmental Laws, and EHS regulations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, HR, SCM, and Administration teams to monitor and strengthen statutory compliance across manufacturing facilities.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance calendars, trackers, dashboards, and MIS reports.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and identify areas for process improvement and risk mitigation.
- Provide legal support for day-to-day plant operations, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements.
- Support leasing and property-related legal documentation for operational facilities.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and external legal counsel on statutory matters, inspections, notices, and disputes.




- Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory developments impacting manufacturing operations.
- Assist in policy drafting, SOP development, governance initiatives, and legal documentation.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely closure of compliance actions and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

- LL.B. from a reputed law school.
- Preferred institutes include National Law Universities (NLSIU, NALSAR, NLIU, NUJS, NLU Jodhpur, NLU Delhi, GNLU, RMLNLU, NUALS, HNLU), Government Law College Mumbai, Faculty of Law University of Delhi, Symbiosis Law School Pune, Amity Law School Noida, or CHRIST University Bengaluru.




- Enrollment with the State Bar Council is preferred.

Experience

- 2–4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing organization handling plant or factory legal compliance.
- Hands-on experience in labour laws, industrial laws, statutory compliance, environmental regulations, EHS governance, and factory compliance.
- Experience in commercial contracting, leasing, regulatory affairs, and legal support for manufacturing operations is preferred.

Preferred Industry Background

Tier 1: Manufacturing and infrastructure businesses within Tata Group, Vedanta, Adani, Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, and Godrej Group.

Tier 2: Manufacturing-led consumer goods companies such as Nestl India, Dabur, Marico, Wipro Consumer Care, 3M, HealthKart (Bright Lifecare), Zeon Lifesciences, and Nykaa.

Tier 3: Infrastructure and real estate companies including Afcons Infrastructure, Sobha, Prestige Group, Phoenix Mills, Embassy Group, and similar organizations.
