Job Description – Solar O&M; Technician
Position: Solar O&M; Technician
Experience: 2–3 Years
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (with travel to project sites and company offices as required)
Reporting To: Asset Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Solar O&M; Technician with 2–3 years of experience in the Operation & Maintenance (O&M;) of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV power plants. The candidate should be technically competent, safety conscious, and willing to travel and work at various project locations or company offices based on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
· Carry out routine inspection of PV modules, string inverters, ACDBs, DCDBs, transformers, HT/LT panels, cables, earthing systems, and associated electrical equipment.
· Monitor plant performance and identify abnormalities through SCADA or monitoring platforms.
· Troubleshoot and rectify electrical and mechanical faults to ensure maximum plant availability.
· Perform module cleaning supervision and scheduled maintenance activities.
· Record daily generation data, maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and site observations.
· Coordinate with the Asset Manager for preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, shutdown activities, and reporting.
· Ensure compliance with Company EHS guidelines, electrical safety procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
· Maintain tools, equipment, test instruments, and spare parts at site.
· Support commissioning, testing, performance evaluation, and site audits whenever required.
· Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain all maintenance records.
Required Qualifications
· ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
· Valid Wireman / Supervisor Licence issued by the competent State Electrical Licensing Authority is mandatory.
· Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in the Operation & Maintenance (O&M;) of rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV power plants.
· Knowledge of solar PV systems, string inverters, ACDBs, DCDBs, transformers, HT/LT panels, and associated electrical equipment.
· Ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
· Basic computer knowledge for maintenance reporting and documentation.
· Knowledge of electrical safety practices, PTW, LOTO, and EHS requirements.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with Solis, Sungrow, Growatt or equivalent string inverters.
· Familiarity with SCADA and remote monitoring systems.
· Positive troubleshooting, communication, and reporting skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
· Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
Travel & Deployment Requirement
The technician must be flexible to travel and work at any project site or Company office within or outside Bengaluru based on operational requirements.
Salary- Upto 35k CTC
