Job Description: A Belt Press Operator in a coal washery manages the dewatering process, using mechanical pressure to separate fine coal particles (tailings or slurry) from process water. This yields a drier "cake" for sale and recycles water. The role is essential for maximizing coal yield and ensuring environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

- Equipment Operation: Operate, monitor, and adjust the belt filter press and associated control panels.
- Chemical Dosing: Manage flocculant and polymer dosing to ensure proper thickening and separation of the coal slurry.
- Performance Monitoring: Regulate belt speed, tension, and roller pressure to optimize the dryness of the coal cake and clarity of the recycled water.
- Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on belts, rollers, and pumps to prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting: Identify operational abnormalities (e.g., belt misalignment, blockages, or poor cake formation)



and make necessary mechanical or chemical corrections.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety protocols, handle industrial chemicals, and maintain plant cleanliness to meet environmental standards.

Required Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 2–5 years of operating heavy machinery, ideally within a coal preparation plant, mineral processing, or wastewater dewatering facility.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of solid-liquid separation, chemical dosing principles, and basic mechanical maintenance.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in demanding industrial environments, lift heavy materials, and stand for extended periods.
