Position: EV Engineer
Department: Fleet Operations / Maintenance

Reporting To: Fleet Manager / Operations Head

Job Summary

OBCL Limited is seeking an experienced EV Engineer to oversee the maintenance, diagnostics, performance monitoring, and technical support of the company's electric vehicle fleet. The role involves ensuring vehicle uptime, battery health, charging efficiency, and compliance with safety standards while coordinating with OEMs and service partners. EV engineers commonly work on battery systems, motors, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and vehicle diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain the performance of the EV fleet.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, battery, motor, controller, and charging-related issues.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of EVs.
- Monitor battery health, charging cycles, and energy consumption.
- Coordinate with OEMs, service centers, and vendors for repairs and warranty claims.
- Analyze vehicle telematics and prepare fleet performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with EV safety standards and company policies.
- Support installation, inspection,



and maintenance of charging infrastructure.
- Maintain service records, maintenance schedules, and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve vehicle uptime and reduce maintenance costs.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- EV certification will be preferred.

Experience

- 5 - 8 years of experience in EV maintenance, fleet operations, automotive service, or related field.
- Experience with EV batteries, BMS, motors, controllers, and charging systems preferred.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of EV architecture, battery systems, and charging technology.
- Understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Robust troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with CAN communication and vehicle diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
