Job Description: The Foreman / Senior Fitter leads mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair of critical power plant equipment to ensure maximum operational uptime and safety. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership

- Assign daily tasks to fitters and technicians.
- Monitor work progress and quality on-site.
- Enforce strict compliance with plant safety protocols.
- Conduct toolbox talks before every shift.
- Train junior technicians in mechanical repair techniques. [1, 2]

Maintenance & Repairs
- Overhaul turbines, pumps, compressors, and fans.
- Align shafts using laser or dial indicators.
- Fabricate and install high-pressure piping systems.
- Replace bearings, mechanical seals, and valves.
- Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance. [1]

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Read blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs.;
- Diagnose mechanical faults and equipment vibrations.
- Inspect components for wear, corrosion, or damage.
- Recommend corrective actions for recurring failures. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Documentation & Logistics
- Log daily maintenance activities and hours.
- Raise material requisitions for spare parts.




- Prepare permit-to-work (PTW) documentation.
- Assist in planning shutdown (turnaround) activities. [1, 2]

Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers).
- Solid knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Expert structural fabrication and gas cutting skills.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Understanding of power plant steam and water cycles. [1, 2]

Experience & Education
- Education: Diploma or ITI Certification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years in power plant maintenance.

- Fitness to lift heavy equipment and tools.
