Job Description – Purchase Executive

Position: Purchase Executive Industry: Manufacturing Location: Kolkata Experience: 3–6 Years (Manufacturing Industry Preferred)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchase Executive with experience in procurement and vendor management within a manufacturing workplace. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel and be capable of handling end-to-end purchasing activities, ensuring timely procurement of materials, cost optimization, and uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables, packaging materials, and other production-related requirements.
- Generate and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) through the ERP system.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize commercial terms with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, stores, and planning teams for procurement requirements.
- Track order status and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.




- Analyze purchase data and prepare MIS reports using Excel.
- Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through effective sourcing and negotiation.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, MIS Reporting, Data Analysis).
- Vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of inventory management and procurement processes.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing procurement practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Additional certification in Supply Chain or Materials Management will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in a manufacturing company is mandatory.
- Ability to handle multiple vendors and procurement activities simultaneously.
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost control and process efficiency.
- Hands-on experience in ERP-based procurement and reporting.
