Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Microsoft Purview Developer to design, develop, automate, and support enterprise-scale Data Governance solutions leveraging Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing end-to-end governance capabilities including metadata management, business glossary, data classification, lineage, data quality, governance workflows, and automated governance onboarding across Fabric and non-Fabric data platforms.

This role requires deep technical expertise in Purview APIs, metadata automation, classification frameworks, Fabric integration, and governance architecture. The candidate will work closely with Data Governance Architects, Data Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to establish scalable governance processes and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement enterprise Data Governance solutions using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities including Data Map, Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Collections, Data Estate Insights, and Classification Management.
- Design and implement governance frameworks for onboarding data products, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), business glossary terms, ownership assignments, and stewardship workflows.
- Develop automated metadata ingestion, asset onboarding, classification, lineage enrichment, and governance workflows using Purview REST APIs, Apache Atlas APIs, Python,



PowerShell, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Power Automate.
- Implement and support end-to-end governance and lineage across Microsoft Fabric assets including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Semantic Models, and Power BI.
- Build and maintain custom governance automation frameworks for bulk metadata management, glossary administration, stewardship assignment, governance reporting, and data product onboarding.
- Design and implement automated classification frameworks, custom classifications, governance tagging, and metadata enrichment for Fabric and enterprise data assets.
- Collaborate with Data Governance, Data Engineering, Architecture, and Business teams to establish metadata standards, governance controls, naming conventions, and operating procedures.
- Develop and support Metadata-as-Code and Governance-as-Code deployment patterns using CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to metadata scanning, lineage generation, asset discovery, classification accuracy, API integrations, and Fabric-Purview connectivity.
- Monitor governance platform health, scanning performance, automation jobs, and governance adoption metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Produce governance dashboards, lineage visualizations, data quality reports, audit documentation,



and executive-level governance KPI reporting.
- Support governance implementation across Azure, on-premises, and multi-cloud data platforms, ensuring consistent metadata management and governance controls.
- Participate in governance architecture, solution design, technical reviews, and implementation planning for enterprise data modernization initiatives.
- Drive governance best practices and promote self-service data governance capabilities across business and technology teams.

Required Skills

- Robust hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric.
- Deep understanding of metadata management, data governance, business glossary, data lineage, data quality, stewardship, and data classification concepts.
- Extensive experience with Purview REST APIs, Apache Atlas APIs, Python, PowerShell, and governance automation development.
- Experience implementing governance solutions for Microsoft Fabric environments and Medallion Architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, networking, authentication, RBAC, Managed Identity, and enterprise security concepts.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder management, and solution design skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Experience migrating governance solutions from Collibra, Informatica, IBM, Alation, or similar platforms to Microsoft Purview.
- Experience implementing governance for enterprise-scale Microsoft Fabric modernization programs.
