Job Description: A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) or Junior Metallurgist in a steel manufacturing plant (SMS/DRI/CCM) oversees metal quality, optimizes production processes (casting, heat treatment), conducts failure analysis, and ensures compliance with safety and technical standards. Key roles involve lab testing, refining material properties, and improving efficiency. Job Responsibilities:

- Production Monitoring: Oversee SMS (Steel Melting Shop) and Induction Furnace operations for efficiency and quality.
- Quality Control: Conduct chemical, microscopic, and physical tests (tensile, hardness, impact) to ensure steel meets specifications.
- Failure Analysis: Investigate broken or flawed metal components to find root causes.
- Process Optimization: Refine heat treatment, casting, and rolling processes.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on laboratory results and production trials.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Metallurgical Engineering,



Materials Science, or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of iron/steel properties, phase diagrams, and strengthening mechanisms.
- Experience: Previous experience in a steel plant or laboratory, or specialized knowledge of CCS (Continuous Casting Machine) is often preferred.
- Tools: Familiarity with ASTM standards, optical microscopes, and spectrometers.
- Skills: Robust analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.
