Job Description: A Quality Manager for a power plant ensures operational excellence by developing quality policies, managing testing for raw materials (such as fuel/water), and ensuring compliance with standards like ISO 9001. They lead QA/QC teams, manage EPC project quality plans, and drive continuous improvement to maximize plant efficiency. [1, 2, 3, 4] Key Responsibilities

- Quality Control & Assurance: Develop and implement quality control policies, procedures, and standards for power generation equipment and processes.
- Material Testing: Lead the testing of raw materials (e.g., coal, oil, water, chemicals) using laboratory equipment to ensure they meet specifications.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other industry-specific regulations. Conduct internal audits and manage external audits.
- Operational Improvement: Analyze production data, monitor rejection/rework rates, and lead initiatives to improve plant OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Team Leadership: Guide QA/QC inspectors and engineers, providing training on quality protocols and safety procedures.
- Document Control:



Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including manuals, procedures, and inspection records. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]

Key Requirements

- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) is typically required.
- Experience: Several years of experience in power plant operations (e.g., thermal, coal, CCGT), with significant experience in QA/QC roles.
- Skills: Solid knowledge of quality management software, data analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
- Communication: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to interface with staff, management, and vendors. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
