Job Summary

We are looking for an SAP ABAP Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP Business Workflow and core ABAP development. The consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting custom SAP technical solutions across reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflow objects. The role requires close collaboration with functional consultants, business users, and technical teams to deliver scalable, high-quality SAP solutions aligned to project standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP objects including reports, ALV, module pool programs, data dictionary objects, BAPIs, RFCs, BADIs, user exits, customer exits, and enhancement frameworks.
- Develop and maintain SAP Business Workflow objects including workflow templates, tasks, rules, agents, events, bindings, deadlines, and workflow containers.
- Work on workflow troubleshooting using standard SAP tools such as SWDD, SWI1, SWIA, SWEL, SWEC, SWE2, SBWP, PFTC, and related transaction codes.
- Analyze functional specifications and prepare clear technical specifications, effort estimates, unit test cases, and deployment documentation.
- Support integration requirements using IDocs, ALE, proxies, RFCs, APIs, or file-based interfaces as per project need.
- Develop and modify SAP forms such as Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms, or output-related enhancements.
- Perform debugging, performance tuning, code remediation, defect fixing, and root-cause analysis for production issues.
- Ensure ABAP development follows coding standards, naming conventions, transport processes, quality checks, and peer review guidelines.
- Coordinate with functional teams across modules such as FI, MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, or HR depending on project scope.
- Participate in project activities including requirement workshops, build, unit testing, SIT, UAT support, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.

Core ABAP

Strong hands-on experience in reports, ALV, dictionary objects, modularization, OO ABAP, debugging, and performance optimization.

SAP Workflow

Practical experience in workflow design, configuration, event linkage, agent determination, rule resolution, container binding, and workflow monitoring.

Enhancements

Experience with BADI, user exits, customer exits, implicit/explicit enhancements, and enhancement spots.

Interfaces

Working knowledge of IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, ALE, file interfaces, and integration troubleshooting.

Forms





Experience in Smart Forms and/or Adobe Forms; SAP Script knowledge is an added benefit.

Documentation

Ability to prepare technical specifications, unit test evidence, transport notes, and support documentation.

Project Delivery

Experience in implementation, rollout, enhancement, or AMS/support projects with strong issue-resolution capability.

Exposure to S/4HANA development patterns, CDS views, AMDP, OData, RAP, or clean-core principles.

Fiori / UI5 Integration

Basic understanding of OData services, Gateway, and backend enablement for SAP Fiori apps.

Exposure to flexible workflow, BRF+, SAP inbox, My Inbox, or workflow approval scenarios in S/4HANA.

Tools

Experience with ATC, Code Inspector, Eclipse ADT, ChaRM/SolMan, Jira, Azure Boards, or similar project tools.

Functional Exposure

Understanding of business processes in FI, MM, SD, Procurement, Sales, or Manufacturing modules.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant SAP ABAP development experience with hands-on SAP Workflow implementation or support exposure.
- Solid analytical, debugging, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver within planned timelines in a multi-team project environment.
