Job Description: The Head of Purchase for a Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and Rolling Mill is a senior management role responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all procurement activities to ensure the cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services needed for plant operations. Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities for this role include:

- Developing and implementing procurement strategies focused on cost optimization and supply chain efficiency.
- Sourcing a variety of materials essential for steel production and rolling, such as raw materials (scrap, ferroalloys), consumables (gases, lubricants), spares, and capital expenditure items.
- Managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supplier performance.
- Implementing cost control measures, analyzing pricing, and achieving cost reduction targets.
- Monitoring material consumption, forecasting demand, and managing inventory levels.
- Overseeing logistics, including shipping,



customs clearance, and managing relevant documentation.
- Tracking key performance indicators like on-time delivery and cost reductions.
- Leading and developing the purchasing team.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Significant experience (typically 12-20+ years) in procurement or supply chain management within the steel or heavy industrial sectors.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field like Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management is often preferred.
- Skills: Solid negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, experience with ERP systems, and proficiency in supplier management are crucial.
