A Production Manager is a professional who oversees the production process and coordinates all activities to ensure enough resources on hand.

They can plan workers' schedules, estimate costs and prepare budgets to ensure workflow meets required deadlines.

An assistant production manager (APM) oversees the manufacturing process, including purchasing, inventory management, production, quality, and delivery. They ensure that all departments are running smoothly and efficiently. Here are some responsibilities of an APM:

- Safety compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Production process monitoring: Monitor and adjust production processes to maximize efficiency
- Quality control:



Implement quality processes, set standards, and analyze quality issues

- Inventory management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies

- Workflow coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow

- Production scheduling: Resolve scheduling conflicts

- Team supervision: Assist with supervising and inspiring the production team

- Work order processing: Use computer systems to ensure work orders are processed and accurate

APMs should be detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills. They should also have excellent operations management skills.
