- Design and Construction:
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create tools and dies.
- Use CAD software to develop designs and create blueprints.
- Construct dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures using various materials like metal, plastic, and composites.
- Fabricate and assemble precision parts for tools and dies.
- Machining and Fabrication:
- Operate various machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders) to cut, shape, and form materials.
- Perform tasks like drilling, tapping, milling, and grinding to achieve exact dimensions and tolerances.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of finished tools and dies.
- Repair and Maintenance:
- Repair and maintain existing tools and dies.
- Identify and resolve issues with tools and dies to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect completed tools and dies for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
- Test tools and dies to ensure they function correctly.
