About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Network Engineer to support the delivery of network configurations, migrations, and implementations across Vodafone's global data centre environment. This role focuses on lifecycle management activities, including firewall, load balancer, and routing migrations, while ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing hosted services across European Vodafone networks.
The successful candidate will contribute to network design, implementation, optimisation, testing, quality assurance, and stakeholder management, supporting network standardisation and innovation across global data centres.

What You'll Do
- Develop, review, and maintain Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for network connectivity solutions
- Collaborate with customers, design teams, operations teams, and infrastructure stakeholders to align connectivity requirements and implementation priorities
- Own and manage country-level network connectivity LLDs while creating standardised templates and reusable configuration models
- Deliver firewall migrations from platforms such as Check Point, Netscreen, Cisco ASA, or Juniper to Juniper and Fortinet solutions
- Support load balancer migrations, including ACS to F5 transitions
- Perform routing and network migration activities involving enterprise and data centre routing environments
- Configure, implement, optimise, test, and support network infrastructure components including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers,
proxies, and Cisco ACI platforms
- Assess network capacity, capability, utilisation, and application performance requirements to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions
- Define, plan, schedule, and coordinate implementation activities in line with change management processes
- Conduct quality assurance, validation, testing, acceptance, and audit activities for deployed solutions
- Create and maintain configuration change documentation and rollback procedures
- Drive network standardisation initiatives across global data centres and local markets
- Support technology innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote operational efficiency, service reliability, and business continuity through proactive risk assessment and mitigation
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
- Good understanding of data centre network infrastructure and operational environments
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and enterprise networking concepts
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches, F5 load balancers, and Juniper firewalls
- Understanding of telecommunications network systems and associated services
- Knowledge of cloud and virtualisation technologies such as Cisco ACI, Open Stack, NSX, and NFV environments
- Experience in network implementation, migration, optimisation, and testing activities
- Knowledge of change management and deployment processes
- Desired experience of at least 3 years within a data centre networking workplace
- Knowledge of scripting and network automation is desirable
Preferred Certifications (or equivalent knowledge):
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
- Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP
- Fortinet NSE (desirable)
- F5 BIG-IP Administrator or LTM Specialist (desirable)
