Cognoverse is looking for a versatile Backend Developer to step into a critical Support Engineer role. You will act as the technical bridge between our India-based development team and our US stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting our Python/Django and React web application deployed on Azure Ubuntu VMs.

This role requires versatile working hours to overlap with the Indian team for knowledge transfer and development syncs, while also covering early US business hours to immediately address critical production issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Support & Site Reliability: Serve as the primary technical responder during US business hours. Proactively monitor system health to ensure the high availability, performance, and overall reliability of the application in production.
Core Development: Actively contribute to core backend development, feature enhancements, and codebase optimization alongside the main engineering team during times when there are no active support incidents.
Troubleshooting & Debugging: Dive into Python/Django codebases and basic React frontend components to identify, isolate, and resolve application bugs.
Server & Cloud Management: Manage and monitor Ubuntu virtual machines on Azure.



Use the Azure console for basic infrastructure troubleshooting, checking logs, and managing VM states.
Cross-Time-zone Collaboration: Work closely with the India development team during IST daytime hours to understand recent features, system architecture, and updated troubleshooting protocols.
Incident Resolution: Communicate clearly with US teams during live incidents, providing quick patches or workarounds, and documenting issues for the core engineering team.

Requirements:
2+ years of hands-on experience in backend development or application support, specifically working with and communicating with US-based teams.
Robust practical knowledge of Python and Django. Basic understanding of React is highly preferred.
Experience with Linux (Ubuntu) server administration, command-line troubleshooting, log analysis, and site reliability principles.
Familiarity with the Azure cloud console (or similar CSP like AWS/GCP) for monitoring and basic VM management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to manage high-pressure support situations.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule (mid-shift or split-shift) to ensure adequate overlap with both India and US time zones.
