Role Description This full-time, on-site Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer role is based in Mumbai and focuses on designing luxury jewelry pieces. The designer will translate design concepts and hand sketches into accurate CAD models and technical drawings suitable for prototyping and production. Daily tasks include creating detailed construction drawings, refining designs based on feedback from designers and production teams, and ensuring all technical specifications meet manufacturing and quality standards.
The role involves close collaboration with jewelry designers, gemologists, and artisans to optimize designs for aesthetics, comfort,
and structural integrity. The CAD Designer will also maintain organized design files, support continuous improvement of design processes, and adhere to brand guidelines and timelines.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Technical Drawing and Drawing, with the ability to visualize and sketch intricate jewelry designs.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for jewelry, with experience translating concepts into accurate 3D models.
Ability to create accurate Construction Drawings, including measurements, settings, and structural details for manufacturing.
Understanding of Design Engineering principles as they apply to jewelry, such as durability, wearability, and material constraints.
Relevant diploma or degree in jewelry design, industrial design, mechanical design, or a related field.
Attention to detail, strong aesthetic sense, and ability to work with luxury finishes, gemstones, and metals in design.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with design, production, and quality teams on-site.
Prior experience in a jewelry design or manufacturing setting in a CAD-focused role is highly beneficial.
