The Computer Lab Technician maintains laboratory computers, servers, and peripheral devices. They provide direct technical assistance to users, enforce lab policies, and collaborate with IT departments to implement network updates.

Core Responsibilities
Technical Support: Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for students and faculty.
System Maintenance: Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and academic software.
Hardware Management: Diagnose and repair computers, printers, scanners, and projectors.
Lab Supervision: Open and close the lab while monitoring user behavior and ensuring equipment security.
Inventory Control: Track laboratory supplies, software licenses, and spare hardware parts.
User Guidance: Conduct informal training or orientation sessions on specific software applications.
Staff Oversight: Hire, schedule, and supervise student lab assistants or tutors.





Required Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in computer repair, system administration, or IT helpdesk support.

Key Skills
Operating Systems: Proficiency in managing Windows, macOS, and Linux settings.
Networking: Basic understanding of LAN/WAN setups, IP routing, and server management.
Troubleshooting: Solid diagnostic capabilities for complex hardware and software conflicts.
Communication: Ability to explain technical instructions clearly to non-technical students and faculty.
